Hello Sunshine, yes you!
This year was one of the most testing, difficult and sad times for me, yet one of the most enjoyable. I thrive through chaos and I feel happy and grateful everyday. You play a pivotal role in that. Thank you for being here, in all your different capacities. From cooking my recipes in Africana and sharing your love for the book with others, cooking with me in our masterclasses, travelling me with across continents, watching me on the tele or listening on the radio. You make my dreams come true everyday and I thank you!
Although I don’t celebrate ‘Thanksgiving’ in the way that you might do, like some of our friends across the pond, the concept of giving thanks is one that I practice all year round. This song, ‘Sunny’ by Bobby Hebb popped onto my instagram feed today. It gripped and filled me with such sunshine, joy and gratitude, I immediately sent it to those I love and appreciate, and now I am sending it to you too! Plus a disco version by Boney M which you can boogey to!
