I wish WE were there! Every single day was incredible and a celebration of women, from the city to the mountains and beyond.

Basking in the warmth, joy and serenity that is the epitome of my cookery retreats. In just 8 days, we enjoyed a sojourn in our hide-away just outside Marrakech. We traversed the desert, travelled up to the foot of the Atlas mountains, we explored the skies of Marrakech, shopped for treasures from the bustling Medina to the chic boutiques in the new town of Gueliz & Hivernage. We learned to bake delightful treats, ate at some of the most beautiful spots, explored the coast, all while enjoying nurturing food and a proper ‘holiday’ as one of our guests Monica described. This was one thing I wanted to achieve, to truly stand out as an experience of a lifetime, filled with rich encounters, while being a relaxing holiday. Although I did not plan this to be a women-only retreat, it ended up as such, and gloriously so. We cooked with the women of the land - from inspiring divorcees and single mums, to young marginalised women working to be independent, all with stories that were deeply moving. I am grateful and proud of what we accomplished, what we experienced together and more to come.

Postcards from our retreat in Morocco

After scrolling through thousands of photos on my phone, three hundred and counting in our group chat, and struggling to pick what photos to share with you, I have ‘settled’ for these few memorable moments. With just a handful of highlights of our cookery retreat, each day made exceptional with great company of incredible women, enchanting sights and sounds and food to warm our hearts for time to come!

Now back in London, after two weeks in paradise, part of which was our first retreat in Morocco, and second on the African continent since launching in Ghana, with guests returning to their beautiful corners of the world, I can’t quite believe how enchanting it has all been. An experience filled with abundance of great food, ease, excitement, gratitude, and roaring laughter, day after day.

It started as a dream!

In 2019, when I first dreamt of hosting cookery retreats across the African continent, the thought was exciting, almost ridiculous and scary, but I knew in my heart that this would be important. I wanted to take you by the hand to explore, to learn and share together and with the world, first-hand experiences of travelling across Africa. I never realised, just how important, how exciting and healing it would be for my guests and for me too. Although we all embarked on this journey for many different reasons, we shared one desire, to experience Africa! I look forward to this enriching experience with many more of you, as we experience Africa and beyond through this unique lens, one destination at a time.
