After starting African cookery classes in London almost 8 years ago, and after numerous messages from our community, asking to have them return, I am happy to share that we are back in London, bigger and better with new full day masterclasses. Whether you are a professional chef, enthusiastic home cook or a novice, you will enjoy this immersive experience with tons of inspiration for cooking fresh ingredients, and using spices to maximise flavour in your cooking. You will learn about flavours from across the African continent and how to enjoy these in your home cooking. You will leave with knowledge and skills that are not commonly taught, yet highly important in our stories of identity, family and community.

Our cookery classes are inclusive as always, welcoming most diets, including lots of plant-based and vegan choices. Although I am not vegan, back then, I insisted on teaching vegan classes to prove that spices, great produce and recipes were all that was needed to create wonderful flavours in the kitchen. During that time, my right-hand woman, Bella - who some of you have met, became vegan, and we continue to cook, travel and thrive together.
Learn to cook West African Food with traditional inspiration & my modern twists
As many of you might know, teaching is a great passion of mine. Of all the facets of my work in food, teaching is the part that I enjoy the most. It brings me closer to you and offers the greatest opportunity to share my time, experiences, stories and yours too. From live cooking masterclasses to community classes that support people from all walks of life and teaching while we are on our cookery retreats, I love it all.
At our masterclass, you will learn to cook both traditional African recipes, many I have learned from my mother, grandma and mama’s from my travels, and modern African recipes which you will love to recreate time and time again.
Highlights of our masterclass
You will enjoy welcome refreshments and delicious nibbles as we commence cooking. I’ll share the elements of traditional recipes and how to transform them as a contemporary cook. You will be inspired by recipes you can recreate time and again, bringing African sunshine flavours to your home and heart. After each session of our masterclass, you will sit to enjoy a fabulous feast, and in the second part of our day, you can sit or take your creations home.
